The road not taken by Robert Frost:
Two roads diverged in a wood and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference,
These are the roads of being false or real and certainly being real is the less traveled road. If we choose to be real,
and live from and as our True Self through our awareness and responsibility,
we can then have authentic experiences in relationship with ourself, others and with God of our understanding.
In the process of our recovery we can then realize self-knowledge , growth and serenity.
This appears to occur in a never-ending cycle of wounding and recovery,
regression and progression involution en evolution, as we life in the unfolding Divine Mistery of being our True self
in experiential connection with our Higher Power.
BUT we often make the other choice. We choose, often involuntarily,
our false self with its existence of active co-dependence. addiction and attachment to people, places,
things, behaviours and experiences. While we may gain some life experience here,
it will be by definition incomplete and not authentic. And from our continuing unresolved conflicts,
which ego in large part participates in making, we experience no resolution and no self-knowledge.
We feel like martyrs or victims : stagnated or regressed, chronically unhappy.
The choice between those two paths is ours. We usually make it when we are well in recovery.
